Your Greatest Marketing Assets

Do you know what your greatest marketing assets are? Here’s a hint: It has nothing to do with a killer logo or a great web site. Four of the greatest marketing assets you posses can make all the difference in your results.

You might think that you are not a marketing and sales person, but if you own or work in a small business, think again. When you’re in business for yourself – whether you like it or not, feel like you’re good at it or not – you are a marketing and sales person. You are doing everything all by yourself.

It will be ideal to have a mentality that you are both a marketing and sales person. This is essential especially when you are just starting as a solopreneur. And as a novice businessperson, bear in mind that most of the substantial business assets you have, as mentioned above, are not your catchy-business name, killer logo, or stunning website (although they important too). Instead, they are the invisible ones that make you as an entrepreneur. They are your attitude, belief, skill, and vision.

1. Attitude

Be enthusiastic and passionate about your value proposition to the marketplace. You know that what you offer can make a difference and have an impact on your clients. When it comes to your own marketing, if you feel good about yourself and you have self-confidence because you are doing everything for the benefit of your clients, you’ll become more attractive to prospective clients. Be passionate in creating value.

2. Belief

You don’t have to have a degree in marketing to get great marketing results. But you do have to believe in yourself and your actions. I call it a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe that you can’t do something, you’re right – you won’t do it. On the other hand, if you believe that you can learn what it takes to get better marketing results, you will. If you believe that you are creating value for your clients, you`re right. The difference is your mind setting. Believe in yourself first, because if not, no one will.

3. Skill

No one started as an entrepreneur with already refine skills in sales and marketing. Skills do not develop overnight. It takes time to acquire them and master them. They can be learned. They can be honed over time. Whatever skills you need to learn and develop in your niche, believe me, tons and tons of materials are available out there. Just type the key word and in a matter of seconds, you will be overwhelmed by the number of available resources for you.

4. Vision

Tap the power of your imagination. See for yourself the end results of the value you are offering to your clients. Visualize the results (good results of course) and try to let your clients visualize these results applied to their own business. One of the mistakes a novice entrepreneur does is not extending his or her vision far enough to see the end results. Moreover, when you have the vision not just for your services, but also for your business itself, it will be difficult for you to give up easily.

If you’re persistent in pursuing your business and your small business marketing with a positive attitude and belief that you can, sooner or later you’ll find what works for you. You’ll discover the marketing strategies and tactics that allow you to begin attracting attention and bringing in new clients consistently! I know because it’s happening for me.
